which reflector?
I'm going to be getting either the Secret Garden DR120 (4'x4') or the DR90 (3'x3') and either a 600w or 1000w HPS. (probably the 600w for my first grow)
At the moment the I'm trying to determine the best reflector for this footprint and I'm looking for opinions from you fine folks? What are the best brands/models for this type of space?

which reflector?
Tents get HOT. 600 & 1000 watt lights get HOT.
You will need an air-cooled hood reflector or use a cool tube.
Lights take up a lot of height; when hanging.
Good Luck.

which reflector?
Thanks Dutch Pimp
I plan to cool the lamp independent of grow envelope hopefully this will draw most the heat out.
I've been thinking about going with the Radiant 6" or 8" Air Cooled Reflector any thoughts on this one?
cheers

which reflector?
That one will work.
I'm a fan of 600s you can normally run your inline fan, tent fan, pumps and anything else then if you had a 1000w. Plus if you want to get all fancy you can buy another tent setup w/600 that CAN out preform the 1000, and cost roughly the same amount of money. IMO

which reflector?
Yes I wish I had 2 600's instead 1 1000. But would 2 1000's is not bad either, but 3 600's is even better.
Anything I grow is for personal consumption only. I never ever sell anything. I hate buying it, I hate people making money off me, when its so easy and safe to grow. It is a victimless crime because it never leaves my home.

which reflector?
The 1000w vs 600w is always going to be totally dependent on the individual growers needs and preference....both work....
Personally, if temps weren't an issue, I'd run 2000w per 4x4 area, but that's just me....soon baby, soon....

which reflector?
Thanks all,
I've decided to go with the Radiant Air Cooled Reflector with a Quantum Ballast and a 600w HPS in the DR120. I like 319's idea because if this all goes well maybe I'll setup a Veg tent and a Flowering tent.
My next step is to calculate the cfm I'll need to cool this setup, both the light and grow chamber, I've found some calculations so I'll need to sit down and figure this out. At the moment I'm looking at either a Vortex or Can fan, are these good brands? (Side note my first instinct is to use 8" ducting any pros or cons vs 6"?)
Cheers

I recommend the active air inline duct fans. The 6 (400cfm) or 8 (720cfm) inch would work for you. I use one of each Go for the 8 if you plan to upgrade. I also bought mine at a mighty hydro, a grow store and over paid. I could of bought it online for $40 less, online at the right store you get free shipping too. The vortex is a lot more money for a little more cfm and a 10 year warranty instead of a 5 year warranty.
