I've read that sea water contains trace nutrients that may be beneficial to plants but I probably wouldn't mess with it.

seawater = saltwater? I dont think a plant would do well if theres too much salt

Have you ever noticed, Nothing grows on the beach! I have used salt water to kill weeds (not pot). So, I don't think I would try it! In fact, if you nose into a few threads here, you will see that most growers even recommend a certain pH for your plants. You always want the best results and no sense messing with mother nature when you have such an expensive crop!! Good Luck and see ya around! pr

Having kept a coral tank or two, I can attest that the ph of the saltwater is around 8.1 or so, (unacceptable) it contains excessive (overdose) ammounts of calcium and magnesium, and it will kill any plant in a container. (unless it's a mangrove plant)
