Im assuming that by energy saver youre talking about cfls? If so id keep the plants under them for 18 hrs lights on and 6 lights off (total darkness). This is called veg. You let the plants veg til they get whatever height you prefer (Once in flower they will double or sometimes triple their size) so be sure to take that into consideration. Once you go to flower times (12 on 12 off) you will usually be able to sex the plants within the first 2 weeks. Theres alot of info and some great pics on here to help you on sexing when you get to that point. Good luck

How long they are under lights a day depends on alot of things. Anywhere between 18 and 24 hours of light. You gotta wait a bit to sex the plants. I assume yours are still young sprouts? Share a lil more specific info and someone will most def help you. Im new here as well. Grew alot a long time ago. I got an outdoor grow i'm about 8 days into. Chek out the basic growing forum here and most of your questions will be answered. Chances are we all ask the same shit, you know. Also, read other peoples grow logs, and you will learn alot. Watchin a pro helps alot. Good luck!

Thanks for the info, well once I had put my seeds onto toilet paper and the roots had came out I put them into pots, I'm two days in and they're looking ok its going to be an indoor crop and I've just put another four seeds in toilet paper today so will be growing six in total. I've been around a professional grower before they were doing it hydro but it was a lot to take in, I haven't put them under the energy saving bulb yet just sitting on the window sill will they be ok for a week till I get my setup ready? Also how long do u have to wait before u start feeding with chemicals? xx

It depends alot on the medium your growin in, and what kind of chems your talkin about. If its just a normal fert, about 3 weeks is the norm, depending on the growth progress till then. And start with a diluted mixture, like 1/4, so you dont burn out your babies. Like I said, man, read as much as you can. Type your question into a search engine, and go to multiple sites to get answers, andgo from there. Pushit has givin me good advice. This site seems to be the best. Very smart growers. Nice people willing to help. Good luck man. Cant wait to see pics if you decide to post em. I got a log on here too, if you wanna check it out from an outdoor grow perspective. Happy growin..... Its addictive.....

Ive never done the window sill thing. Just watch the plants closely and if you start seeing alot of stretch put them under the cfls. You should have a long time yet before you start adding nutes. I dont add any til i start seeing deficiencies. As a noob, pay attention to your watering. Water til you see a little runoff then dont water again til its really light or the plant is drooping a little. Over time youll be able to read the plants as to what they need. Dont over love the babies! Once you get the basics down you will get more comfortable and have a little fun with it. Well good luck
