I also live in the south. The main thing i would worry about there is wildlife. Deer and rabbits love those plants. Also its been pretty dry down here this year so be prepared to transport alot of water that way. The best way that ive heard to keep the pots from drying out so fast is dig some holes and place the pots in them. Thats keeps the direct sunlight off the pots keeping them moist longer. Weezard says that if you get bounty dryer sheets around the base of the plant itll help to keep all the bugs and pests away. Just put a slice in the sheet and place it around the stem of the plant. That should keep ANTS away also. They are real bad around here and love to make beds in the pots. Also you might want to want to set the new seedling in the shade for a couple days and slowly advance it in more light. Its a big change from cfls to direct sunlight. So slowly work your way up or you could fry the little ones. Well good luck and keep up updated.
