The erosion of personal liberty and freedoms aren't necessarily the result of a grand plan of a new world order but as you stated it's the lazy American who would rather do nothing and let the government take care of everything for them that is the problem.

Did you know that under the FCC rules the government can enter your home anytime they choose without a search warrant? Any wireless device in your home can be considered a violation of the FCC's ham radio regulation. Tracking devices can be placed on your vehicle without your knowledge or permission even if the car is sitting in your driveway, to be protected it has to be behind a fence with a no trespassing sign.

I don't belive in a one world government conspiracy but I do believe too many people are lazy and stupid to realize how much freedom they have given up. If you're sitting in a park minding your own business and a cop asks for your ID you have to provide it, refusing to do so can result in an arrest for obstruction.

Entrapment almost doesn't exist anymore, an undercover cop can purchase AND do drugs to facilitate a bust. It's a myth that if you ask a cop if they are a cop they have to tell you, try getting that one to hold up in court.

Say the government comes in and turns your life upside down, violates your civil rights only to come back and say "sorry, case of mistaken identity" . What kind of recourse do you have? Not much!
