My DIY LED lamp
My first creation was this 2 X 10w blue lamp as compared to a commercial 120W TriBand. It works very well for vegging and side-lighting.

I just finished my next generation full spectrum lamp. These are photos of it before assembly.

I have one more LED coming. Until then I am using 3 13w CFLs for the centerpiece. The corners are 45w CREE 3000K white emitters driven at about 20w for best efficiency.
I will probably drive the center emitter at about 40W when I finish. Am going to use a 5000K for veg and a 2700K for flower. The corners will stay at 3000K throughout.
The RM Lamp 1.0 was designed for functionality, not beauty. The cooling fan is not pictured. The next gen will look very professional, but that is at least 6-12 months away. I already have many updates and modifications planned.
Note that the CFLs appear brighter than the LEDs, but that is only because of the viewing angle.RackitMan Reviewed by RackitMan on .
