short periods of very minimal light will not affect anything, especially if the room light you're turning on is incandescent. to stress the plant it requires prolonged (1-2 hours a night) for a week or more....

you get moon light, you get lights from cars and what not in the wild... it's prolonged interuption in the light cycle that you don't want.
BobBong Reviewed by BobBong on . 5second 'accidental' lights on during dark cycle Plants been on flower coming 2 weeks now. Couple of times I flicked the room lights on by mistake, not the gro-light (!). But I react accordingly and switch it back off, giving it about at the most 5secs of room light (?). Does this do anything to the plants? I would guess, it would 'stress' it...but what'd that do? Short term memory! Have done it 3 times now :p Rating: 5
