If you only have two seedlings id just go grab a couple 6500k 26w cfls. til they get a little bigger. Work up to that 400 plus theres no need to put extra use on that bulb until its needed. Cfls are way cheaper than a replacement bulb for that 400

If you don't do what pushit says....

90cm should be fine... You don't want too bright of a light directly on top of them at such a young age...

However I agree with pushit, would be better to start them off light....

Go find a double socket hood (pet store fish tank or terrarium tops work great $20-$30) come with built in reflectors. I have the EXO-Terra hoods
Then get a couple 55W 6500k CFL loopy lights..

EDIT :whoop sorry just saw your last post..

i agree with pushit get flouros. id prefer a couple of two foot flouros, the spread is much better for two seedlings and you can put them an inch away so they dont stretch so much.

hmmm ok i guess ill see what i can do about those flouros,
so if i put them under flouros how long till i have to move them under hps?
    also a thought

in the nature, they are getting full sunlight even as seedlings, dosnt the flouros make the plant weaker?

they don't call them High Intensity Discharge lamps for fun.... 90cm would be too far for a full blown plant in flower but a seedling needs to reach for the light and grow some leaves to catch it before it can take the intensity. Start at 90cm. If they look like they are stretching, lower it to 80cm. As it grows, close the gap between the lamp and the plant tops, but wait until you have at least 4-5 internodes before getting it as close as 40-50cm. Once in flower, you can get it as close as 30-40cm, as long as temp permits....

I hate to be the one to tell you but if you are serious about growing good plants all the way to finish, it tends to cost some money. If you cant afford a couple cfls and a clamp light finishing these plants is gonna be hard. Im not trying to be a dick Im just a realist. What if you run into mold or insect problems? What if your plants need extra nutes? What if the temps are too hot? Its always better to try and cover all the "what ifs" before you start your grow or you will find yourself in a bind. Trust me i found out the hard way. I thought i could throw a couple seeds under some cfls and in 3 or 4 months id have some bud. The list of what i ended up needing got to be pretty big during that grow. Once again im not trying to put you down im just adding my 2 cents.

Haha. I'm right there with u pushit. I thought a light and some dirt would be all I needed. Boy was I wrong. But on the other hand, learning the hard way is learning. Won't forget what u did wrong after a plant hermies.
