    FIM vs Topping??

FIM - when one FIM's a plant, one trims off 75-90% of the new growth on the apical stem. Once the plant has recovered from the trim, more than one apical stem will result (usually two). After those two are established, one can again FIM the now two apical stems and expect to have four. And while your apical stems are recovering, the side branches gain length as well.

Topping - When one decides to top, the stem is cut in a fashion to prohibit further growth on the cut branch to promote growth elsewhere.

The process of FIM can be done on all branches, not just the main one, as well as with topping....

How many plants you going to be growing in that 6x6 space?

    FIM vs Topping??

Topping results in two tops and takes slightly longer to recover than Fimming. Fimming gives four tops and recovers more quickly because you are cutting less off. I have done both, I found fimming slightly harder because if you dont quite cut enough off, it doesn't do anything but damage a few leaves.

Yeah...... At the end of the day, it's still a plant. It wants to live and grow the way it was meant to. By cutting, whether topping, FIMing or just trimming, the plant will simply grow where able to.... Both methods are good to shape your plant to your specific needs....
