help with ph in coco
Me i would'nt take my ph below 5.8 ,... should always let your water sit for 24hrs (ph'ed!) after the 24hrs you will get a true reading then if needs to go down add ph down , if needs to go up add water not ph up ! (you should have an extra pot of stood water for this),. when u water check ph on the run off to see where you are. It will do no harm to flush your plants at all they will love ya for it!

help with ph in coco
there is a lot of debate about how coco should work. A lot of people say to flush coco because it has some salts(mineral salts) in it, so you have a "clean" mix ready.
Secondly, you seem to have the PH range right, but, i don't use straight coco, so i don't keep my PH that low(6.0 and above) but using tap, and like mentioned, i would let it sit, open to the air(to let chlorine evaporate, unless the water peeps use chloramine, thats another story).
Anyways, some people say to have coco always moist, and to never let it dry out(the only reason i can see this ideology is to keep PH stable, or more stable), however, there are many who let it dry out real well before watering again and have no negative effects.
