Fox Farm soil questions
Ok, so Im finally graduating to Fox Farm soils for my next grow. Im planning on going from Rapid Rooters to Light Warrior to Ocean Forrest. I just want to make sure I do the right ph since ill be growing in different mediums. I asked about the Rapid Rooters before and I was told 5.8 should be fine for them. Should I put 5.8 ingoing ph for the Light Warrior also since its peat based even though its phd adjusted at 6.3-6.8? Then 6.5 once its in Ocean Forrest. I would usually experiment but around these parts this stuff is expensive and a long drive. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Fox Farm soil questions
Your going to kill yourself worrying about PH like that. I use to start in rapid rotors and transfer to Ocean Forest.
I would let my water sit out for a day when the rotors needed to be watered, and would PH between 6.5-7 when I needed to water once in FF. I grew like this for about a year. Yes it's true if you show should test your soil if your plants are showing deficiencies. But with using both of those products you will have no issue starting your plants with plain water then moving to properly ph'ed water.
If your grow shop is far from you like mine is, then I would build 3 types of soil. Seedling/newly rooted clone soil and a veg and flowering soil. Look up subcools soil. I just find it unnecessary to spend 20 dollars a bag for soil when Miracle Grow (Or any other brand) with perlite, guano, lime... I fucking hate Fox Farm (Soil).
Sorry to rant man, but I hate the fact that many new growers like myself and many others really are lead to believe that Fox Farm Soil is the holy grail of dirt. People have had just as many spider mites with F.F, then with MG, and with the amount of nutrients we put in our soil it receives more then enough. If you look at my grow you can see that I use MG and haven't had any issues with spider mites, (Knock on wood) which in turns allows me to upgrade my equipment. But this is just me.
Anyway, best regards.

Fox Farm soil questions
I use peat puck's which seem to be similar to rapid rooters and I find them pretty good. The water gets left out for a day with a little cheap air pump bubbling in it. Whether or not this releases chlorine I don't know but it does bring the water up to room temperature and stops it going flat and airless. I give them water at PH 6-6.3 when its needed. Once they've rooted and ready to be potted into soil I water at PH 6.5 and thats what it is from then on - with some variation.
I just try to always keep it simple and so far (touch wood) have not had trouble with my clones.

I usually try to keep it simple also. I have been mixing my own soil or i have been using MG (with good results). Thats pretty much my only options around here. This upcoming round i decided to try the FF for the hell of it. I realize that soil mediums get phd water of around 6.5 but light warrior is peat based (agroponic medium) and i was curious to whether it should be a lower ph? 6.5 would probably work for it but im just curious if anyone had better results with a lower ph (5.8). I do alot of reading and I realize there is always room for improvement.

Fox Farm soil questions
People use miracle grow with success but I still think ffof is a ton better. I've put all my flowers in It now and see amazing results. As far as ur light warrior question I dunno. I would just go straight to ocean forest.
U know what \"thought\" did?

Yeah, let your water sit out. Most of the time when you check the water outta the tap it will show one ph reading and then let it set out and go to use it, but after it sits be sure to check it again.. most ofter the ph will climb when left to sit in an open container.

Fox Farm soil questions
I started the seedlings last night in Light Warrior. I watered with 6.5 and runoff was 5.2. The other seedlings are going in today and im thinking about watering with 7.0 to bring the runoff up a little. The bag said that the medium is ph balanced 6.3 to 6.8 so we will see which one they like the best. Thanks for the replies and any suggestions would be appreciated.

Fox Farm soil questions
I use a Milwaukee 600 digital pen. Been using it since last year and its never more than .1 off. A good little pen for 20 bucks. Like i said i usually only test and ph one jug at a time so that way i know the ph is right. The light warrior should work by itself as a seed starter correct? All it looks like to me is peat and perlite. T
