Timing our next crop around family visit

My husband and I are about to flip our next run in the next few weeks and I just learned that some of my distant relatives will be coming from the Midwest to stay with us for a few nights. They are spending lots of money to get here and they have never been out for a visit since I moved here (Northern California) almost 13 years ago. Now even though I have a 215, it's still not a subject I am ready to discuss with these particular family members. They will only be here for 5 days and so it's really not even worth bringing up. At this point we can time the crop to be either at the last week of flower while the family is here or we could cut down and harvest right before they get here so the plants are hanging and drying while they are here. My concern is the smell. I think the smell is much stronger right before harvest, whereas my husband thinks it's stronger while it's drying. I would like to get some feedback on this matter so we know how long to veg for. Thanks for any input!!

KInd of depends on how you harvest. If you just cut the whole plant and hang it to dry it would probably smell less. But if you trim the buds and then dry its usually pretty stinky. You might think about building a carbon scrubber in the room that you're growing or drying in to keep the smell down a little.
