No, it doesn't.... That's just my opinion though.... Think of your plant as a plant that would grow under the sun... And what I mean by that is to create an artificial environment that best mimics mother nature.... The dark photoperiod allows the plant to store energy. If you don't allow it to store energy, all energy is used and the plant builds slower....

The light period is ultimately up to you but I just think your plant will benefit from a dark period....
