    First thread! Hello Boards!

Hey all! Just wanted to say what's up and try to connect with some cool people. I'm 28/m/Sacramento, CA.

So about a month ago, my housemate, and one of my best friends decided to quit cold turkey. He quit the herb, cigarettes, and coffee. He was an irritable ***** for about a week, but so far he's pulled through just fine. He felt he had to quit, because for the last couple of years, his life hasn't really been what he's wanted.
It's been kinda tough for me, because, while I've supported him, I feel like I've lost my smoking buddy. Our friendship goes further than just herb, but it was definitely something we bonded over. It's funny, however, the effect that it's had on me.

At first I felt a little bit judged by him, only because he quit. He doesn't have that attitude, but it's hard not to feel that way when you are the only one smoking. I'm shocked, though. I feel like his quitting has had a dual-effect on me. I've fed off all his positive energy (exercising a lot, getting things done, schoolwork getting done), which has led to my smoking less, but at the same time his quitting has reaffirmed my love of the ganja. While he wasn't able to balance smoking and leading a productive life, I've realized that herb really suits me well. I've been a student (part-time) for a while now, and I'll be graduating at the end of summer, I work full-time, I play on a couple of soccer teams, and I smoke a lot. I realized that, unlike him, I'm able to get stuff done while smoking, and it's contributed to my increased love of the ganja. That's when I decided to join these boards. Anyway, stupid post, but I just wanted to write something about it, and I thought this would be the appropriate place to do so. Thoughts?

I hope he can find a way to balance his life out, because we've had a lot of good times smoking together. If you made it through this whole post, thanks for reading.

    First thread! Hello Boards!

Welcome, where do you hail from? I dated a heavy drinker who had a real problem with my smoking but I think what frustrated her the most was that I wasn't the typical stereotype she was familiar with, I've never been unemployed, great credit, own my vehicles have a little extra spending money have a a few "things" not that they are all that important. We did an 8 mile hike and I smoked a big fat bowl of killer green before we left and I'll admit to being pretty worn out by the time we were done but she almost didn't finish and I had kind of started to worry, anyway, she said on the way home "how in the hell did you smoke all that shit and do that hike, I can't even believe it..."! LOL

She didn't like the smoke but would drive 14 miles to my house with a 32 oz cup full of vodka and OJ at noon not to bring and drink but to drink on the way! She got mad at me once because I smoked a bowl about 10 a/m and was feeling frisky "the only reason you want to do it is because you smoked that shit...".
