    pruning fan leaves?

Alright...I've started to flower..their about 2 weeks in, and everything is going great...so I'm wondering, what happens when I start pruning those large fan leaves? I'm told by some to leave them alone, and others to trim them so the bud will grow larger...anyone with any experience, would love the imput...thanks.

We the willing, lead by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have done so much for so long with so little, we are now qualified to do anything with nothing.

Leave them alone. Only remove them if you have to or if they shade a bud you are trying to encourage growth on. Even so, those big fan leaves should generally stay. Try bending them out of the way and using a tie to hold it out of the way.

    pruning fan leaves?

STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP.....the fan leafs are organs of the plant....trimming any leafs will result in stress and could slow the growth. How would you feel if someone started trimming your lungs?!?!? Omnibuddy got it right. The only reason you would trim is if they were blocking light, but still...they are the power house of the plant. Do a search for it, There are alot of threads on this...

    pruning fan leaves?

Thanks Guys, I appreciate it...this is my second grow, and it's only bag seed...but I've got NYC Diesel germinating right now...so I want to make sure that I've learned as much as I can before I start the diesel...last grow it was too hot in the room because I didn't have inline fans for the lights, I've got 'em this time. And I trimmed the big leaves last time, because the same buddy told me to because if I trim them then the plants makes puts more energy into the bud...I didn't know any better, and like I said, I was a virgin. Guess I don't have much common sense, so thank you guys...it makes sense when I think of it from that point of view, all I had was my buddy helping me...I'll be more tender and loving this time around. I will be posting pics.

Ya dont listen to your buddy any more, stick to cann.com and it will do wonders, soon you could be teaching ur buddy. Also start a log in the grow log section and happy growing! The best thing you could do now is read read read read...find someones log that have a set up like yours and read...read the stickys and the FAQ's. Trust me it will pay off in the long run!

    pruning fan leaves?

    http://boards.cannabis.com/hydroponi...-scrog-5.html\

tiki is a trimmer too, with great results to show for it

im a fan leaf pruner, but only if its blocking a budsite and cant be bent out of the way. With my SCROG or SCROP(screen of PURPLE!!) things tend to get veryyy crowwded so i have to trim alot of the fan leaves off in order to increase light penetration. I didnt start trimming until my 4th grow, then you start realizing that the popcorn buds are annoying and as much as the plant needs fan leaves, increasing light penetration will increase your yield.
