I bought small industrial and one of those big circle loops that state for up to 40 gallons . Now looks like jacuzzi . I will let you know how it goes.

I will wager on the higher oxygen helping. By chance, are your cubes surounded by any plastic? You should remove that to promote aerial root growth.
