When I decided to get my card as health was detoriated way too fast, I thought this site of RI's would be great. I stopped smoking 30 yrs and make a hit once in a while. What I signed on and saw how some people acted it amazed me. I thought the whole idea was to help pple not fortune hunters, Some pple have been very nice and helpful that you hear the backstabbing. In the 70' the whole idea of reefer was to be happy and make friends . You would smoke with toal strangers either at a cooncert, party etc. Of course back then likds were 4 or 5 fingers. The way some of the younger pple talked on here is they invented it. When being stoned was to kick back and always help pple out ,no matter what they needed. I know I'm young at heart but if my kids acted like some of the bs and trash talk and prices( which by the way is ellegal from what some charge). I just hoped it would be sticking together and paying irt forward. Thanks to the nice ones and for the crooks KARMA baby...thanks 4 letting me rant.*** peace ,Lin

The are always people on both sides of the fence. To act surprised is somewhat silly. Don't forget, indoor growers are common nowadays and that means electricity among other expenses. Its a whole diferent game than the days when outdoor ruled.

I have yet to meet any rich dispensery owners. Most of them around here seem to be regular working class entrepreneurs. America is based on capitalism, and the people working hard to bring medicine to dispensement certainly deserve to be payed. Thats also the law in California at least. It is non-profit donation based type of thing.

If you want free labor do it yourself?

Stone soup i have always thought the amswer...Linda no matter what you hear only believe what you see and experience. When I am in the position to help again 7 weeks I will keep you in mind and WILL supply you with meds patient to oatient - no cost. This is my word.

Chucky is right you need to start to grow on your own. But I understand this is a large investment that could take time to save up for. In the mean time BE VERY careful with who you talk to off this forum There are as many bad caretakers here then there are good. Care givers are not supposed to make a living off there patients. They are not allowed to charge you for there time, only compensation for the cost related to providing you medication. $200 for a Oz is insane. any caregiver looking to charge THERE patient this much is not a true caregiver. I could think of plenty of other words that would better describe this type of scum. Finding a good caretaker is not easy but with time you will find someone, start off with people you know and trust already, long time friends, and family are your best bet. I would also suggest you stay away from co-ops, they are a problem waiting to happen.

linda,becoming self sufficient is the best answer.you wont have to worry about anyone or anything.now that being said dont be ashamed to ask for help becoming self sufficient because there are alot of people on this site that will help.i dont care what anyone says everyone at some point in there grow has needed help.give me an email this weekend.

Care givers are not supposed to make a living off there patients. They are not allowed to charge you for there time, only compensation for the cost related to providing you medication.

Just to be clear. Caretaker can legally charge you for both their time and equipment. It is clearly spelled out in black and white in California MMJ law. As for other locations I cannot speak to those laws. In any case, patients that I am a caretaker for do not pay for my time, however it is my decision not to charge them even though I could legally do it.

A primary caregiver may receive reimbursement for costs associated with assisting a registered qualifying patient's medical use of marijuana.
