SB 5073 Passed, sent to the Govenorfor signing!

There is little time, please go to her website, Contact Governor Gregoire , fill out the form to send her, and ask her to VETO SB 5073 for the Medical Marijuana patients of Washington's sake! It only takes a minute, the bill has passed and the time is now!
Veto the entire bill, do the right thing, not just portions or lines. SSB 5073 is unfixable without rescheduling Marijuana first!

    Done.

I highly doubt it will matter though. Sounds like her and the main sponsor of the bill had this going from the start.

    - "Hey, let's do this bill to "clarify" the mmj law and get support by saying we'll give patients protections! They'll buy it hook, line, and sinker and then we'll take away everything we said we'd give them!"
    - "Wow! What a great idea! Hey, and when it gets to my desk I'll take everything out about dispensaries so we can shut them down!"
    - "Yeah, that sounds great!"

Sounds horrible, but it's probable... Talk about being f'd by the people who are supposed to serve you!

My guess is she will veto it because of the threats by the feds, costs the state too much in federal interest and threatens all.

Let's hope she just Veto's it rather than making it even worse somehow with her Line Veto pen...
She has 20 days to decide, tell her VETO period and write a bill that will work. : Contact Governor Gregoire
Fill in the form and ask for a complete Veto on SSB 5073..

Here is what is on the Governors website....

"Governor Gregoire??s statement about SB 5073
For Immediate Release: April 21, 2011
Gov. Chris Gregoire released today the following statement regarding the passage of SB 5073, concerning the use of medical cannabis:

??I realize the value that medical marijuana has for patients and support the voter-approved initiative. I also agree with the intent of the Legislature to clarify ambiguity surrounding search and arrest as well as concerns around dispensaries and access. We need to create a system that works.

??I asked the Legislature to work with me on a bill that does not subject state workers to risk of criminal liability. I am disappointed that the bill as passed does not address those concerns while also meeting the needs of medical marijuana patients.

??I will review the bill to determine any parts that can assist patients in need without putting state employees at risk. No state employee should have to break federal law in order to do their job.?
And we never failed to fail...it was the easiest thing to do.

It actually looks like it might be a better bill than the original except for dispensaries. But its good she's got some protection for co ops. The original bill was an absolute monstrosity.
