Sup smokers,
I wanted to start a thread that would not only help me out, but help us all out. I know personally how devistating it can be to lose a crop to theft, legal issues, and even mold. I am hoping that some of you can give some good feedback, tips, tricks, and advice on how NOT to get busted or jacked....
I will start it off and hopefully we can keep it rollin...
A good way to get some unwanted attention is by not making sure that no light is escaping your garage. If your lights are running at night and you happen to be in a garage or room, make sure you take a walk outside every once in a while to make sure you don't have any suspicious light sneaking out of windows or the sides of your garage door. A noisy fan you might be able to get away with but a noisy fan and some lights raises more suspicion.

you just need to use your brain!!!

1-keep your mouth shut about your grow...

this means that dont tell that to anybody what you at,not eaven your friends...cos plenty of people just cant keep theyr mouth shut and some people just might slip that out when drinking or etc
2-dont order stupid things to your house...

if your not legal to grow then DONT order 1000w HPS and a ballast+ the seeds to your own address...
3-and use your common sense...

dont triple your electricity bill between 2 payments.etc









SO basically if you use your brain you will be grand...

Keeping your mouth shut is #1 as has already been mentioned, I'd bet 99% of all rip's are because of smoeones big mouth. A friend of mine grew in her apt. but told EVERYONE about it, sure enough while she was away on vacation they got ripped.

Don't think because you're "legal" you don't have to be discreet.

Ex wives/husbands/boyfriends/girlfriends can be vindictive, choose your company wisely.

Keep it below the fence.

Don't try to bypass your utility box for free electricity.

Don't put your clippings in the green garbage can from the waste company, I know of people who got busted in Placerville doing this.

Don't do anything stupid to bring any unnecessary attention to your home such as cranking AC DC and forgetting a window was open.

Don't drive around with "legalize it" types of bumper stickers and clothing.

Don't drive around with expired registration, missing lights, non working lights etc., even though you may be legal it's just not worth the hassle if they find your medications and even more so if you have more then your script allows for.

I was growing in my backyard in buckets on a cement slab, didn't take into consideration whenever I over watered the extra water was running under the fence well the weeds on the other side just LOVED the nutes and my neighbor got a little suspicious because he saw a mushroom cluster of weeds and looked over the fence to see if I had water running. Luckily he was cool and just asked me to burn some med's with him, needless to say I was a little spooked.

Kind of like riding around with a "legalize it" bumper sticker, some people(like my friend who is legal) think they don't need to be as discreet since they won't get arrested but rippers are the biggest threat IMO.
