3 weeks into flower and no sign of bud formation
I am growing Top 44 and Blue cheese which have now been on flower for 3 weeks. The Blue cheese was grown from clone and the Top 44 from seed. The Blue cheese is forming nice little buds as expected, however the Top 44 has only just started to show female pre flowers. I am a grower with 10 years experience yet I have never known a situation like this.
Has anyone got any ideas whats going on with the Top 44?badgerbadger Reviewed by badgerbadger on . 3 weeks into flower and no sign of bud formation I am growing Top 44 and Blue cheese which have now been on flower for 3 weeks. Top 44 is a indica strain that's supposed to finish in 6 weeks of 12/12. So far she has been in flower for 5 weeks and is just starting to form flowers. This is far too slow even for a pure sativa.

Some species/phenotypes need a gradual reduction in the light to start the flowering process.

What strain is Top44? Have you ever grown it before? There are so many different strains anymore it's hard to know what anyone is really growing.

I'm no expert but according to the MMJ Growers Guide some equitorial strains take a very long time to finish flowering and I've read some will not finish under artificial lighting. My friend told me some of those Cannabis Cup strains can take up to 6 months to finish. I'd try a different strain.
