3 weeks into flower and no sign of bud formation
I am growing Top 44 and Blue cheese which have now been on flower for 3 weeks. The Blue cheese was grown from clone and the Top 44 from seed. The Blue cheese is forming nice little buds as expected, however the Top 44 has only just started to show female pre flowers. I am a grower with 10 years experience yet I have never known a situation like this.
Has anyone got any ideas whats going on with the Top 44?badgerbadger Reviewed by badgerbadger on . 3 weeks into flower and no sign of bud formation I am growing Top 44 and Blue cheese which have now been on flower for 3 weeks. Odds are your from-seed plant hasn't matured enough.

The Top 44 was under 18/6 for 6 weeks from a seed. I have grown from seed before many times with similar grow conditions and never come across this until now.

What strain is Top44? Have you ever grown it before? There are so many different strains anymore it's hard to know what anyone is really growing.

well is top 44 a pure sativa if it is thats your issue sometimes the purer the sativa in a strain the longer it takes to flower thus making for a longer flower time altogether, but i dont know that strain eather some more info on it would deff help

I'm no expert but according to the MMJ Growers Guide some equitorial strains take a very long time to finish flowering and I've read some will not finish under artificial lighting. My friend told me some of those Cannabis Cup strains can take up to 6 months to finish. I'd try a different strain.

Hey BadgerBadger,
From what I can see after googling Top44 is you should be seeing flowers at this point. Evidently the strain is mostly indica and should only take 6-8 weeks in flower. Maybe you flipped them too soon. Has the plant stretched much since going 12/12?

I think this is the problem with SO many names/strains out there, who REALLY knows what they are getting? I picked up some clones last year that were supposed to be Indica, well I never saw an Indica plant turn into a full blown bush with no main top stem.
