    lights on 36-45 hours

My plants have about two weeks to go. I am on week 9.5 of this sativa grow.

I left the lights on for a day and a half or so. 36-48 hours. Has anyone ever made this mistake this late in flowetring? The trichomes are clear mostly cloudy. Should I start flushing or continue with my p-k for another few days then flush. I really wanted to push them 12 weeks.
    i feel really sad.
    any advice?

This situation is a minor one. I'm sure your plants have nice colas on them by now. Just put them back under a regular 12/12 regimen and they should be fine. This extra time of light did however make your plant say WTF? Might be a few days before it gets back to it's usual flowering.

Now let's see if we can find a solution to this. First let's ask, why did this happen? Then, how can we prevent this from happening again? Once you answer those two questions, you'll have learned something for today......

Put them in total darkness for 48-72 hours when ready to chop and do it in as little light as you can. UV destroys THC.

i do put them in dark for 72 before chopping but I do not want to do it till 2 and a half weeks. I made it 9.5 weeks I want to go the 12 weeks. I just hope they continue to rippen.
    Thanks for the replies.
i will post back here in a week or two with updates on how they look.

    Hey budlover13,

The total darkness routine before harvest for 48-72 hours is a myth, it won't do anything for the plants. I believe that this started from someone who misunderstood using a 36-48 hour period of darkness between veg and flower. Extended darkness right after veg stage hastens the plants induction phase into flower mode.

It's true that UV can destroy THC if over done, but that is what turns trichomes from clear to cloudy to amber...in nature.

Some of us actually use UVb supplemental lighting for that purpose. Tho I have recently found that blue dominate light, like 10k kelvin, can do the same only safer.

    Hey demoreal, read the above.

i always heard UV was good for plants too. (plants do grow well outdoors)
i always heard leaving in the dark was good at end. ( )

I just hope my plants don,t freak out though. Cause I for sure heard that leavig the lights on for two days when you have two weeks left is no good.
i am just assuming that it would be worse if it happend at the beggining of flowering. I just hope the trichomes rippen and make it to cloudy/amber.

    Hey demoreal,

I think that CanGroIt has it absolutely correct, the plants probably went :wtf: but you are only looking a a few days for them to recover. Anyone who has done re-veggation of a plant will attest, it takes awhile to undo flowering mode. They should be fine, and even if they decided to turn hermie there is not enogh time left for them to grow seeds.

I just addressed the dark period before harvest on another thread. As I said there I will repeat here; if anyone has a scientific based theory please share it with me and the rest of the class.

Just thought I would show my grow. It is the best grow I have done so far. My first time SCROG'ING it.
There is a 91' chem dawg in the middle surrounded by trainwreck. I live in cal, the trainwreck was bought as a clone. It is not greenhouse seeds version (that one finnishes quicker). The cal clone one takes forever, but the window is long.
Usually it is not a good idea to scrog with two plants but I have had these clones for a while and have grown them both a few times. It worked out great with the chem dawg in center, cause the trainwereck stretches like crazy.
