Indoor SOG Grow Log......
I never really have utilized the SOG method so this will be a learning experience for me. Advice is much appreciated from anyone, questions as well. So without further a'do.........
3' x 2' x 2' (w x d x h) Veg Cabinet, made from 3/4" thick OSB board, sealed with all purpose sealant during construction and inside edges, 1 1/4" thin screws also holding it together, two 4" holes cut for intake and exhaust, cabinet door sealed with thick weather proofing door seal, two hinges to swing door open and two locking straps with key locks, flat white interior paint double coated, 4" inline fan for exhaust.
For Veg I will be using (2) 36w = 120w CFL's and (2) 40w = 150w CFL's. 4 holes cut into a piece of wood to hold the sockets. 2 of the sockets were actually those shop lights with the metal cone shaped reflector. I used an extension cord to wire them all together. I made sure to use an extension cord that would hold the current needed for the lights to work without over heating the wiring. I like this because I can cut a different piece of wood later, add more lights, and still use the same wiring. The cord I used is rated to carry a maximum of 13amps and or 1030watts. And right now I'm barely drawing like 1.2amps with this light setup. Using chain links and hooks to hang the lights.
Using Happy Frog Soil mixed with Perlite. Even though the soil I get comes with Perlite, I am adding more perlite to have about a 60/40 mix of soil/perlite.
The SOG will be grown with an Indica dominant Hybrid. 14 clones will fill, or try to fill, a 2' x 2'-8" space in the flower box.
They will be getting nothing but filtered ph'd water for the next couple of days. I will post the nutes and feeding schedule on monday when I feed for the first time.
They were placed in soil 18 hours ago so we will call this VEG Day 1.
Using six packs for now. Will transplant into 6" containers to flower. Thinking about vegging for either 2 or 3 weeks. Not sure if I want to veg for 4.
My goal is to grow enough to be able to no longer have to inhale but be able to ingest and still get the same effects. Inhaling gives you the quickest effects but as an asthmatic, I'd rather ingest. I want to start cooking with it. CannaCandy would be cool too......
The first pic is of the first clone taken from the bubbler and placed into soil 3 days ago. So once the rest of them show new growth like this one, I know they are ready for light nutes.

Indoor SOG Grow Log......
5 of them are already showing signs of new growth. 3 of them don't look too great, might not make it. And the other 6 are still showing signs of transplant shock. Today was their first taste of supplements. They still aren't ready for nutes so I just gave .5ml of cal-mag, 1ml of liquid karma and 3ml of vitamin B-1 in .5 liter of water. Was just over 500 ppm. Ph'd the water to 6.5 and fed all 14.....
I'll still be happy even if not all clone/cuttings make it. Shoot I'm just happy I was able to keep the strain alive without a mother plant. I did a couple things wrong when I took the cuttings. First I took the cuttings during a dark period, which I knew I shouldn't have done but did anyway. Second I didn't check or correct Ph at all for the first 3 days in the bubbler. By doing these two mistakes I think it cost me a 100% success cloning rate. It is still early to know just how many will make it to flower but like I said, right now I'm just happy I was able to keep the strain going. Right now I have two plants in my flower box, that were vegged for 20 days, that take up about 40% of the 2'x2'-8" screen they are using for support. So if only the five best make it, I can surely get them to fill the space that will be available for them. This SOG attempt might turn into an SCROG in the end...... We shall see

Indoor SOG Grow Log......
2 of them were pulled because well they didn't make it, may they RIP..... Good thing was that one of the three that weren't looking too good did come back to life. So now we are looking at 12 clones. Six of them are showing 100% new growth. I'm still waiting for the other six to show more.
The first pic is of the six that are doing really well. The second is of the other six. I also have 4 Skunk Special seedlings growing right along side them. I planted the seeds thinking I was going to have a 0% chance of clones rooting. I just can't find it inside of me to pull the seedlings so I think I will keep them.

How are your feelings toward a dome? I think a dome would benefit you in these early stages.

Indoor SOG Grow Log......
Went to the hydro shop and started chatting with the owner. Showed him a couple pics ( he's a med card holder too and showed me pics of his current grow, which puts mine to shame ) and he said that I should be fine with keeping up humidity with foliar spray, no nutes just plain Ph'd water. I asked, "are you sure?". And he said that if they didn't, he would give me the dome and tray, I'll take that bet......
Last night when the lights came on I sprayed and each hour since I woke up this morning. I couldn't believe my eyes the last hour because two of the six are showing more growth, sweeeet! Man, it's been so long since my last crop, I've almost forgotten all the little things......

So happy right now!!!! Now 4 of the 6 are showing really noticeable amounts of new growth. I guess I won't be getting that dome and tray for free anymore, oh well.......
Ok, one very important detail that I left out of the thread on purpose - The roots of the six that were slower to grow than the others were sprinkled with mycorrhizae from Great White Shark when first taken out of the bubbler and placed into soil. I cannot say for sure that this is the reason for the slower growth. Further tests will have to be performed. Reason I tried this was well because I wanted to try the product at this early stage to see what would happen. I think the next time I try this I will only use 2 clones in an attempt to try to determine if this was in fact the culprit to the delayed growth. Could also be a lack of humidity but the other six did just fine so not sure...... Anyone else ever try this????
In order to create an even canopy during the flower phase, I will have to place the taller ones deeper into the pots, when transplanting, moreso than the others.

Indoor SOG Grow Log......
It's on MoFo's! All 12 are growing!!! I just gave them their first taste of nutes this morning.
Fed: (measurements are per 20 oz of water)
.5ml Fish Mix
.5ml Alg a Mic
.5ml Bio Bloom
.25ml Floralicious Grow
.5ml Cal Mag
.5ml Liquid Karma
.5ml B-1
Came out to just over 500 ppm's. Ph'd water to 6.5. Also foliar feeding using .25ml of Floralicious Grow in 18oz of ph'd water.
So yesterday I was standing there staring at my veg cab, like I usually do, and I started thinking about the 4 cfl light fixture I have 3 hours away from me and how I can't wait to add more light. I started to think, what can I do for now to increase lumens? And then the light over my head came on! It was like AAAAAAAWWWWWWWWW!!!!Duh, cut a piece of black/white poly plastic and create a reflector/hood. I swear, it seems to have doubled the concentration of lumens. I noticed the leaves got phatter overnight.....
3rd pic is the six that were slow to grow. 4th is pic of taller ones getting some LST......
Happy Growing!
