I agree HighPop, it is an enormous benefit for future legalization that our representatives, and council members are considering these issues.

IMO we have done a hundred times better than Cali by making medical marijuana sales fit a retail model.

Copobo, I am fully aware that you disagree, but I have a job because of the retail model. So do 10 of my coworkers who wouldn't otherwise. In order to have this model it must be regulated.

If people are being crushed then they need to work on their business acumen, and perhaps should have anticipated the regulations before dropping their life-savings into flawed business plans.

It's a rush, so it's going to be hyper-competitive.

While I think it is important to be vocal in the process as we continue to make regulatory decisions in the state, we have to know that if retail marijuana is to persist in any form, (medical or recreational) we have to do it in a way that respects non-toking joe-citizens.

The retail model will give the feds all these easy and huge targets to pursue when the worm inevitably turns. I'm not looking forward to the pogrom, but I think it's coming. It won't leave much time for them to come after small-scale home grows though.

Raids certainly have been in the news this week. However, most of the accusations are about tax fraud are tax evasion.

Maybe this is just wishful thinking, but if you keep everything above the board as a business, IRS audits aren't a problem, and the Feds wont have much to say.

Why must the worm turn? A constitutional amendment carries a lot of momentum and as a social movement marijuana is well on its way in this country.
