when to switch fro florecent to hps

hi im just wondering when shall i put my babies under the hps???? they r currently under floro and are about 3 inch tall...is it time??? thanks

I do it after they harden off from the clone process. So about 3 weeks old I suppose.

I suppose it depends on the wattage. Pics would help. Three inches with one node? If it's a high wattage you can start with it a little further away and lower it a little each day til it is at a comfortable distance. If it's a little 175, fuck it fire it up and let em bask in the Caribbean sun.

Height is not necessarily a good indicator...how many weeks old are they? Give em at least 3 weeks preferably 4 to get a good root system going...no roots=no buds, so don't rush it! Then you can put them under some powerful light at a distance, watch them, and move them ever closer...if it's 400w or better, 5 or 6 feet away initially, moving to 18" or so...ya gotta watch the plants and read them correctly to know exactly what they want...DP's are what they SHOULD look like at 3 weeks...he's a master tho! Beer cups, DP? LOL! Only the masters know for sure....Show him the finished buds in beer cups, DP!....Love that pic! LOL!

thanks for your inputs...i germinated them a week ago on in tissue n that,,then put them in their pots the day after with the roots bein inbetween 2-4 cms..a few have 2 nodes a few only 1..my last grow went fine got what i wanted but just abit curious this time as im doin more ,ive got 2 600 watt hps when there ready tho..so you say leave them a week longer????? thanks

what is the size of the grow room that you have those ten plants in?? do you leave them all in the area in the picture, or do you move them??

2ft x 4ft x 8ft closet... start to finish...:smokin:

1 600 for a couple of weeks then 2 600 hps when there 2 big for 1 light,does that help???

That is a lot of heat for the square footage.
