1 tbsp per gallon, some people use 2 tbsp. Lots of people use it the entire grow, every watering.
I start using it a couple weeks before flipping the switch to 12/12, every other watering. The plants seem to really like it.

only water & molasses works well for me the last 3 weeks; before harvest
EDIT: I add molasses, maybe twice during those 3 weeks. 1tsp per gallon, mixed well with warm water.

I noticed when I was reading up on using molasses that there is a wide difference in dose rates. Some advocate 1 tablespoon per gallon, some 1 teaspoon.
1 tablespoon seemed to me to be a hell of alot of molasses so I decided for my first time to go with the lower amount and just stir in 1 teaspoon. I use it once a week.

Read the molasses sticky, and you might understand why the different dosages.
I use either Grandma's or Brer Rabbit. (available at any grocery store, made by the same company) And even those have different percentages of calcium, magnesium and iron.
Make sure to use unsulphered molasses, or you risk sulfur build-up and a ph drop .
I use 1 tsp per gallon of properly ph'd water.
Too much molasses isn't a good thing, so it's best to sneak-up on a maximum dosage.
