You could, but you need to understand the light cycles. To flower the plant needs 12 hours of true darkness. Since you would not want a huge plant, I would plant about mid May. Then after solstice in June, the plant will slowly start to flower. An 8 week or more period of time for that.

With a closet grow, you can control all that perfectly, albeit it is costly and takes some time. Do not expect other plants to hide cannabis. It gets too big and is too different looking than a house plant.

I want to grow because I have no budget what so ever right now and I enjoy a good smoke every now and then. I cannot plant outside for various reasons. But I think I'm in luck because the sun shines on my window for hours a day, but that's risky I suppose.
