    Window Sill Growing

Hi all, thanks for reading hope you can help me out.

I want to grow because I have no budget what so ever right now and I enjoy a good smoke every now and then.
I cannot plant outside for various reasons. But I think I'm in luck because the sun shines on my window for hours a day, but that's risky I suppose. I want to grow on my window sill in my bedroom with some regular plants to make it look less supicious and so my family wont take a second look if they come in my room while I'm away.

Would this work for a nice bud if the plant can get sunlight for 10 hours a day?

Or would it be easier to do a closet setup, my closet space limit is 1 by 4 feet.

    Please, any advice is appreciated.

You could, but you need to understand the light cycles. To flower the plant needs 12 hours of true darkness. Since you would not want a huge plant, I would plant about mid May. Then after solstice in June, the plant will slowly start to flower. An 8 week or more period of time for that.

With a closet grow, you can control all that perfectly, albeit it is costly and takes some time. Do not expect other plants to hide cannabis. It gets too big and is too different looking than a house plant.

Thanks for the advice guys. I think I'm going to do one plant in my closet because it is less risk and from what I hear it works better. What kind of bulbs do I need and can I use them in a regular lamp? Will growing in my closet make my entire room smell like cannabis? Sorry, noob here.

I will give you my advice ... don't try to grow in your parents' house. The things you may not have considered here is that this plant is a weed and it is going to get big. It is not going to look like just any other houseplant. Second, it is going to put out a smell at about 4 weeks that is going to let everyone in the house know that it is there. It's just not a good idea to do this. Wait till you have your own place.

you can grow on your windowsill but have some other kind of light on when the sun goes down so you get 18 hours instead of 10 to prevent early flowering. I did this with about 7 hours of sunlight and cfls only during sun down. Ended up with a 4 foot plant but only about 1/2 oz. I would have yielded more but too much nitrogen in the miracle gro soil and the cfls did almost nothing besides tell the plant it is not night time. Hope this helps.

George Carlin once said the best weed he ever smoked was called Toledo Window Box. It can be done but is usually a light harvest.

A window box is outside the window, not inside...and it was a comedy routine, not necessarily based on fact.

There used to be a section in the rules concerning growing in someone elses house without their permission.
    There were two reasons...
If your grow is somehow discovered, the owner (or the parents) could be charged and lose not only their freedom, but their home as well. (asset forfeiture)
    -or-
If anything goes wrong and you burn the house down...insurance wouldn't cover the losses since you were involved in an illegal activity that caused the incident...

Was also stuff about growing in apartments, but that's gone too.

Curious why these rules were dropped. Have never heard of a cannabis patient needing to hide their grow from their parents.
