Reveg question for Rusty Trichome.....
I only have 3 Big Bud plants left.. I was wondering if you had ever tried this.. I'm gonna try it.
I'd like to know if you have ever taken a revegged plant and split the stalk at the fork near the bottom.. Cut off some of the rootball then transplant the 2 halves? Since they have a root system of their own, they should do fine, right?GaGrown Reviewed by GaGrown on . Reveg question for Rusty Trichome..... I only have 3 Big Bud plants left.. egads...
the inhumanity...
the anguish...
(Emmie shivers)
ohhh... to be split asunder at ones most vulnerable place
(a small scream is heard in the distance)
I think I need to go to my quiet place now.

Reveg question for Rusty Trichome.....
Good Gawd man! What are you thinking? LOL! No doubt what Em thinks of this....LMAO! Who is that poor little girl in the pics? Dam that looks painful! How low is the fork? er, distance from fork to soil(?) Also, what's the diameter of the main stalk? It might work if you could dress the wound on both halves above the dirt, maybe, but wouldn't it be much simpler, tho time consuming, to re-veg, and then clone? I've only ever had two AK's...They make SOOO many clones, if I want! But I've never flowered them either...I use to have a mom of some bagseed that I grew outdoors, I hacked to pieces and re-veged and cloned, and it was pretty good, until I got hold of the AK47, then I tossed it...sometimes I wish I hadn't done that...:wtf:

Nice seeing you back in the game, GA.
Not too sure I'd trust success to that technique, but I've never tried. Since it's the last of this strain, I'd prefer to see ya re-veg and take clones, or cut one branch off and re-root it...leaving the rootball on the other branch. This would minimize the damage and increase the odds of at least one of them surviving rather than losing both halves. If you do this though, immediatelly drop the injuries in water to keep from having air suck-up into the cuts. (a death sentance)
If you do cut one branch of the "Y" off, leave an inch or so on the other half with roots. Otherwise, you risk the "Y" dying-off.
Once you split at the "Y" there will be a huge chunk of trunk missing from each half. (from the "Y" to the soil) This is a major injury. The trunk has a couple of protective layers that protect the plant from disease, and exposure to air will dry-out the surrounding tissue. (but if you keep the injury moist, you risk mold or disease) Perhaps wrapping the injury with garden tape would help. (the green stretchy kind)
I'm not too sure if burying the injury would be a good idea either, as disease loves to crawl into any nook-n-cranny it can find. Might be able to coat the injury with a light coat of rooting compound and bury it, but I'm just guessing...

wye wye wye.... I ain't never seen so many Y's in one place before...hehe.. I'm gonna take the first comment you made..Bout not trusting that technique.. I just thought it would be a good project.. Your the reveg Go To Man... I kinda thought alot on the points you made before deciding to try a stunt like this. You just made me see that there is more risk, than there is to gain from such punishment.CLONE CLONE CLONE and clone somemore..Thank's Rusty!
Oh I'm bout to post some pics of my plants and I'll have an update on that Poor Clone, for ya. Thank's for savin' her life, too!
