Tiz best to up-pot in smaller increments. When you put a seedling into a five gallon pot, it's easy to overwater and nutrient build-up can become a problem. I go from 2 cup, to one gallon, two gallon, then into either three or five gallon pots. (depending on strain)

Mylar is fine. However, with CFL's wall reflectivity isn't a major concern. Flat white paint has never done me wrong, whereas Mylar folds, scratches, and collects overspray drops.

I can only recommend products I use. The Fox Farms Trio is cheap and easy, plus they have a foolproof Weekly Feeding Chart for their products online. I've been using their stuff for about five years now with no plans to change. A one-quart trio lasts me about 6-9 months.

Ingoing water ph should be between 6.3 and 6.8 ph. If you go outside that range, nutrients will start to be locked-out. If you can afford a ph pen, get the calibrating solution, too. If not, a freshwater aquarium ph test kit ($7 or $8 at most pet centers) can help guide your ph, but if broke you can go online and Google your local Water Quality Report. It should tell you what's in the water and it's average ph. Tiz a good place to start.

Solid posters here are few and far between, thanks for being the latter here. I have a question. I'm an outdoor grower that has recently taken up indoor as a hobby. Last November, I became bored and started the pics you will see below. 3 weeks ago, I transplanted the 4 plants into 5 gallon buckets. There were 6 originally, 2 were obvious males that I tossed(although seed stock is another topic I would like to discuss in the future). The remaining 4 are in the south windows indoors where they were started.

I now have 2 4-month old plants(the other 2 are reluctantly still vegging)enjoying a natural 12-12 light cycle indoors when I don't want flowers until August. I've heard that plants can live up to 12 years under a variety of conditions. Can I leave these plants, and expect them to switch back to a vegetative growth state as is?.

Thanks for explaining what CFL's are. My boxes for vegging and cloning are very funky and home made. I just use regular 4' double flourscents in each box. So I really don't have much to say about growing indoors, hydroponics or under lights other than to say that my lights are adquate for my purposes.

ay rusty and others i thought i would up date you guys on my grow right now the seedlings are 1 week and 1 day old (well most of them, 2 are younger)i see on two of my peat pots to little tiny roots poking out the bottom should i trans plant now? also any other tips you guys can give me would be helpfull also i have a major concern!!!! i have to water my plants every day!!! i am using 707 soil and it is allways compleatly dry by the next day even if i drench the plants (is that normal???) also when i watter them the leaves droop but after about 3 hrs there back flat & streched out (IS that also normal??) water is tap water that i let sit out to get ridd of the clorine ECT. then i bring the ph down to 6.2 by using apple cider vineger is that ok to use to bring down the ph? and the lights are about 3 to 5 inches from the topps and i am using ferts that have a 24-8-8 npk also roots organics also using soda water for co2
