Maybe I stuck my nose in where it shouldnt be. I stick to my beliefs - i dont think peace will ever come about through war.. and i will never respect those who condone war, or those who actively seek it. but I guess I can respect the bravery that you guys have to show when put in that position. ya thats all they were syaing,,, alot of people here are anit-war(i am), but i still give the respect the people that go into service deserve, they are risking there live for us. Some didnt even get to choose to goto war, they were drafted against there will, so they had no choice but to fight or goto jail. Just think about it, imagine u got drafted and u did time where ever and then someone says something like u did and doesnt show u the respect that u feel u deserve because of risking there lives, that would piss u off...and if not i dunno then cause it would piss me off

I agree with OreO, because I was always strongly against the Iraq war, however I have nothing but the utmost respect for soldiers who put themselves in harm's way. I'm always behind the guys who are being shot at, but it's the people who put them there I take issue with. I agree with Ghostoker that we should not actively seek war when it is not necessary, as I felt was true with the Iraq war. And like Ghostoker, I used to think that war is never OK, but there was always the lingering issue of World War II. I cannot think of any argument that would justify our staying out of that war. So war sometimes is a brutal necessity in order to defend civilization. The thing that gets me is that the Bushies thought this was true with Iraq.

i think it would be stupid for you to purposely put yourself in harms way by signing yourself up. i know if i got drafted id move out of the country, probably to mexico. people today fighting in the iraq war can be thought of as heros, but can also be thought of as insane depending on who youre with. i think all violence between mankind is terrible and i think everyone in the world needs to chill out and just love everything instead of wanting to kill someone.

i'm personally for the war in iraq..sadam husein would hang people from there feet and beat them to death w/ an electrical cord...and ur going to sit back and let that happen for the next 10,20,50 years? Then ur doing nothing to gain world peace...and just think of this, for every american soldier we loose over there, his life will save that of persay 100 iraqi's...some wars r un-needed but this one was for a good cause and god bless the troops over there saving a country from a ruthless dictator who now cannot hurt anymore people!

We have only had 1,500 US casualties...

And those are only the number of civilian deaths that can be verified, or that were reported. The number of actual civilian deaths is probably much higher. And lets not forget the hundreds of thousands of civilians who have been injured. The US presence in Iraq is doing more harm than good.

Exactly my point. I have seen estimates 10 times that, but I was going off of just solid numbers, with the idea in mind that it wouldn't raise controversy over an issue that is not the primary focus.

We did not acquire the freedom we have today by holding up fucking protesting signs...War may be a bad thing but its needed...Maybe we wouldnt have war's if we all could be peaceful and have respectful of each others belif's..But in this world today i dont see it happing anytime soon.
