RE: Veteran Smokers
War is never good, DUH! But, I think the point here was that we should try and respect those that are fighting for our freedom to sit here and argue about it. That is the point. My ex-husband is in the military and has fought in this war. A war that didn't exist 12 years ago when he joined. Well it did, b/c of Clinton going to war with Saudi Arabia in 92 but he wasn't inlisted at that moment. My point is when this war arose he didn't have a choice to say NO he wouldn't go. I hated that he had too b/c I was scared for our children we share together. They could have lost their dad. Do you know what hurts my 11 year old the most? Hearing others say her daddy is bad b/c he is fighting this war. She not only has to live without her father, she had to listen to other adults bash him at the same time. She would come home from school crying b/c of it. Asking me why people didn't remember 9/11? Why don't they know her dad is only trying to protect us here? I had no easy answer for her. But the saying that Freedom isn't free was all I could say to help make any of it make sense. What else can you say?
The point is that those who have fought and those who are still fighting need all the support they can get. I think that was the purpose of this thread. The military has my support, now and always.
