LED grow lights.
Hello all,
I just ordered a pair of 90W UFO LED lights and will be posting pics as the grow goes along just to show how effective these lights can be. I have never used LED before and have read many many many negative and positive reviews about them. I hope to shed some kind of light positively or negatively for those who are trying to save some money and can't afford fans and exhausts to help deal with heat buildup. New post as soon as I get everything set up.

Okay, so my LED UFO lights came in and man are they fuckin bright! There is a sticker on the back side of them that says do not look at lights without sunglasses lol. They came very well packed and even have some hangers with them. These are 2 90 Watt lights with 1 Watt LEDs. I have a very good feeling about these as I couldn't see shit after looking right into these. I really think they are as bright as an HPS. They do say that they are comparable to a 400 watt hps each. We'll so how this all goes. Keep your eyes posted on this for those interested and I may end up moving this to the hydroponics section when I start my actual grow. Props to HTG SUPPLY for shipping a well-packed item!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the 90 watt LED lights from HTG supply are junk. A good 90 Watt LED light will run you between $300-$500 (mine cost $300). I suggest you return them and purchase just 1 decent 90 watt LED. Check out Prosource worldwide ($300) or HID Hut ($500). LED lights do work you just need to be careful about which model you choose.

A 90w UFO, no matter who made it or how good it is, will not compare to a 400w HPS.
In fact, your 2 90w LEDs will only come close to competing with 1 400w HPS.
With all that said, I wish you luck growing.

Yea, listen to OM...They may work decently for veggin, but flowering...forget it....HPS man! There's no substitute....yet. Soon, maybe.
You coulda bought two 400w HPS's for that much...and had the real deal.
Hey OM...How ya doing, man? Haven't seen ya much lately...

Thanks for the reply all. I'm still waiting on some clones from a friend so I can test these out. I did have an hps set but sold it with the tent as I have space limitations. I hope to get some decent results from them but like I said this is just something I'm interested in messing around with to see what happens with them. Its weird you say that HTG Supply is crap stuff since I have had very good results with the stuff they sell. Thanks for the replies anyhow. I will update when I have my clones

OM's right here, and those are not 90w nominal units. 45 diodes and 90w that's 2w per diode. Those are really 3w diodes. I will bet on your actual power draw being 68-70w.
I recognize the panel design in my own panels, down to the barely visible circuit paths showing in your not-powered picture.
Good luck, though! Two combined should yield some decent results.
