The powers that be need to get over their reefer madness view of pot. Marijuana itself is being discriminated against due to a social stigma going as far back as the 30's when prohibition ended. It was OK when just minority musicians were smoking it. They still got busted but due to the entire country being mostly racist at the time it was a "minorities only" problem so was no reason for alarm. When the beats and hippies embraced its use it became counter culture and remains unfairly stuck their today. While far worse and documented alcohol and tobacco get a relative free ride.

The benefits are well known and documented as well as any negative side effects. It is way past time for the discrimination against pot to end.
