Start the plants off in pots moving to larger ones i would sugest going from a small clay pots to a 5 gal bucket to the ground. or sinply to the ground right out of the clay pot. make sure that the soil your puting your plants in is not packed down hard and nice and fluffy for the plant to really stretch its roots out and get a great foundation. you can remove the greass from around it yes but imo i dont think that it would create too much of a factor other than bugs and other plant infecting diseases. it might be in your best interest to dig a hole about 2-3 feet in diameter to about 3-4 feet deep. fill with a good medium that will feed a plant for about 6 months or so because its going to be in there for a while.

as far as planting on the side of the hill that could be a really good thing or a not so good thing. if its the side that faces the sun most o the day and receives a lot of light then great. Because your on a hill and im not sure how much mosture you guys get but there are a ton of natural nutrients that run off other pants down the hill and to your crop. keep that in mind also when your watering that water flown downhill. As i see that others have said since you are growing on a hill that could be exposed to the view of others try not to boast too much that your growing (even though i know that might be hard).

when it comes to when to plant i see that you are on the east coast and i would once you start noticing the sun set at the same hour if not later than when it rose in the morning and it feels right outside then your probably okay to start planting. for california im going to put mine in around my birthday in early april. but that because i wanna get a jump on a long vegging time. just try and feel it out. these plants react to how much care you put into them and swear they return the love you give them in the end. good luck with your grow and i hope to see monster buds my man.

Absolutely no foot traffic whatsoever as far as the eye can see in any direction. It's covered in lush grass, which makes me think the soil is decent, but is there a specific way to check that? I'll list off some more questions, I think they'll be easier to answer that way. 1: Is there a specific way to prepare the soil for planting?
