UPDATE to Early Female ID/Seed influence

Well I have put about a year into these theories now. The one factor that does concern me is that this has not been tested on a large scale yet, maybe soon.

I have found some species that do not show red at all in either male or female at any time.

I have found that the round/oval seed bottoms is also not a for sure means of femininity.

THEREFORE, I want to go on the record as stating that my theories are not 100%, they apparently are generalities that work with many species, but not all

I have deliberately picked what I thought would be male seeds, they were oval.....they were females. Scratch that theory.

SO. Back to the rudimentary methods.

UPDATE to Early Female ID/Seed influence

Let's face it, nature isn't perfect. I will still follow the guidelines, I have some faith, just not 100%

I'm still hoping to see something But in the end I know it's still just a crapshoot. I'm going to post my results in the other thread none the less, may as well make the best of it. :hippy:

all that selecting, tracking & labels through all the transplants is more trouble than it's worth...IMO

True, but if it can help weed out males before you get em in flower it's worth it IMO. I'd rather not spend 2 months training a male for SCROG if I can tell its a male from week 2

Some experiments take longer to finish than others, is this particular one a PITA and would be even bigger PITA on a large scale? HELL F'N YEAH!!!! But if it proves even 85% accurate with 75% of strains wouldn't that be a good thing?

I have my doubts about any "early" sexing technique, even the "Female"/ "Feminized" seeds that I've got I don't flower until I'm SURE of the sex!

UPDATE to Early Female ID/Seed influence

Actually I am disappointed about the seed part, as sometimes I want a male.

+1! Which is part of what I'm running. I chose my (fingers crossed "Male") seed based on an irregular crater, and not round or oval, just asymmetrical :detective1:

And of course, it/he is growing in varrigrated. :wtf: Talk about an F'd up growth pattern,.... the leaves look like they grew thru a cheese grater!

UPDATE to Early Female ID/Seed influence

I germinated 2 what I hoped would be male seeds, one female, one male, so I got at least one, and will be able to do my next experiments. But 50% is not a good means of telling, much less only 2 seeds.
