SCROG grow: Can I clip some buds?

I have a scrog grow going and the plants are at about 7 weeks. I know they are not done yet but the trichs are looking about 5-10% amber on some of my GDP and Blue Dream flowers. i was wondering if I were to clip off some of these early buds will the smaller ones still grow to take their place, or is it too late in the cycle? GDP generally goes for about 8 weeks BD goes for about 10, outdoors. Also, is it possible for these ladies to finish early when grown indoors?

    My setup is pretty basic:
-4x2 frame with 2 inch chicken wire
-4 2-bulb t12 fluorescents, held about 1-2 inches from tops of plants 12/12
    -light reflectors
    -Circulating fan below canopy
4 plants are each in five gallon pots. Buds taking up about 70-75% of wire.

Any advice is appreciated (except the cliche "get an HPS system." Haha).
    -Thanks

I'm also wondering the same thing.
I was planning to clip tops and give another 2 weeks for the lower sites. Based on what I've been reading, this can be done. It will stress the plant but in the end smaller sites can grow bigger. They get more light and more energy from the plant. Of course if the plant healthy enough to manage things. And feeding/watering must be balanced very carefully.
This can be a good option for fluorescent lighting

    or
    Get an HPS system

    Get an HPS system [/QUOTE]

HAHAHA! Dick... Just F'in with ya.

But yes, I have read the same type of info. I will probably clip some tonight> then maybe in a couple of weeks. If possible, I may try to get 3 harvests out of this setup, as i am trying to get a good quantity then wait for my Oct-Nov harvest outdoors. Anyway, thanks for the response and good luck with your grow.

I too was wondering the same thing ... Which would be more benificial , either to cut the lower bud sites off or to leave them be and do as you say.

Any advice which way would be better... Anyone ??

Cut the buds from the lower braches.. you'll do less damage, as well as still having all your growing buds above the screen.

What GG said and yes, you can extend your harvest by taking some early (like the ones that are showing amber now, and even some that are still cloudy!) and get several slightly different effects from the same plant...I like doing this, since I just grow one strain, I can still get different "high's" from the same plants by harvesting some early, some on time and some late...if you are careful about it, you won't stress the girls too much...be selective and use the microscope carefully and you can get a looooong harvest, with several kinds of buzz.

To answer the question about some indoors finishing before outdoors, yes, this is often times the case as indoor we have much more control over the habitat they live in, ideal temps and humidity, etc, and especially the light cycles (I've yet to see the sun switch from 18/6 to 12/12 in one day, and hope I don't...LOL!)...ie., no rainy, cloudy days ever happen in my closet! I've never had the wind blow any of the girls over in my closet either! I suppose I could get a bigger fan tho...
