1 gallon per foot

15 gallons is too large.

3 gallon is much better.

5 gallon for larger plants.

15 gallon is very good for outdoor growing. There is no too large . Use as big as possible :thumbsup:

Bear in mind that the pot needs to be appropriate for the size and condition of the plant. For example: You wouldn't put a seedling in a big pot because the soil at the bottom will become sewerage and disgusting because it'll always be wet!

So work your way up from a small pot and observe how your plant looks as to whether it appears to be drooping the leaves. I usually change the pot once i see that the leaves are still droopy in full sunlight after I've watered them.

Last year I used a nerw product called "Smart Pots". I used the 5 gal and the 7 gal and also the 100 and 200 gallon ones.I HIGHLY reccomend this product.A fifteen gallom smart pot will grow a very large plant outdoors. They drain very nice so never a problem with "wet feet" Heres a cute pic with my son and our dog asleep in a 200 gallon one. Here is a shot of some plants in five gallon smart pots in a greenhouse.
