Not sure specifically of Sacto but it is in Nor Cal and generally folks say you should put plants outside the last weekend of May. Around this date the sun will be up long enough to keep the plants vegging into the summer. If you put the plants out too early for the sun hours or if the weather will be overcast for the next week or two the plants could trigger and start budding. In this case you should wait even later. Make sure that all chance of frost has passed as well.

I went by the date last year and neglected to take the weather into account. I had both frost damage that stunted the plants to the point that they never really recovered and several others triggered due to the overcast weather and lack of sun. I only harvested about 20% of what I should have had.

Keep the calendar and weather in mind when putting the girls outdoors.
