If you look real closely I think he is actually using a piece of graphing paper as a white wallpaper, LOL!!!:S2:

Also, yes you need to be using some sort of CFL bulbs, that looks like a light you would use to keep Iggy the Iguana warm. Your plants are very stretched, and do not require any trimming. There are a few simple fixes you can make to keep them going, and probably improve their looks too, all for under 40 dollars.

I would buy at least a 2 pack of 30watt bright white bulbs (2100 lumens each and only about 15-20 bucks for the 2, and will be enough until you get some girth. Also at Home Depot you can purchase outlet-to-socket for only 2 bucks each, and can attach them to the end of an extension cord, providing you the ability to place the light wherever you want.

Also invest in a cardboard box. something that is about 2x2', and about 3-4feet tall will get you a good start. Paint the inside of it white, and you have yourself a very inexpensive growbox.

Keep your eye on this website under Grow Faq for any details about how to go about doing any of this.

REMEMBER: It is all up to you to not be lazy and the information is definitely out there, just gotta use the noodle!
