    I need some advice.

So, around the age of 14 (I'm 19 now) I started to smoke weed. At that age I had the troubles that every teenager has. When it got to the point where I couldn't sleep for days at a time, and the overwhelming depression and panic attacks were too much. A friend offered me a joint and said I would sleep like a baby. After I started smoking I had the urge to learn about the culture that surrounded it. Ever since all that I've wanted to do was grow, as well as do other things associated with this wonderful plant.

One of the things that attracted me the most was the people. Everyone was nice and polite, always offering a helping hand if it was needed. So I chose to make my this life. Now I have a desire to go to college and get a degree. Something to do plants since I like growing other things as well.

Well last night I had a drunken conversation with my buddy. I've found out that apperently all of my "friends" think that I'm screwed up, because of my love for weed. They all smoke also so I didn't understand what the issue was. My question is should I give up my passion? If I don't it looks like I'll end up all by myself.

Never give up any passions unless it harms others.. then it becomes an obsession to cause harm, instead of create joy.

With friends like that, who needs enemies? You have to live your life based on what makes you happy. If you have found your flavor in life, and you love what you are doing then more power to you. You will make new friends, ones that appreciate what this medicine can do. I lost my job over medical marijuana by telling everyone at work that I finally found a cure for my migraines. The funny thing is that just like your friends, all of my co-workers and even the boss smokes pot and parties (without a license). My friends at work were told that if they talked to me, they would be fired too. Talk about hypocrites. I'm here to tell you that you have to be yourself, not what others think you should be or do. Stand up for something or you will fall for anything, be an individual and not a follower.
