how far is too far in the name of science..

I didn't read the artical, but I can imagine what it says by reading the post.

Let me say this..... my huband is a Type 1 Diabetic and has been since he was 10 years old. Stem cell research may have found a cure for him. In Canada they are testing it now. SO far, so good, they have had much success, and NO more insulin for those taken the treatment. Maybe someday the US will approve the treatment here.

Do you know I coud lose my husband at any given moment? Do you know what he or I would do to save his life? ANYTHING! Science is the key to saving his life, and let me add that if they have to clone a pancaress to save him, then DO IT! We have a child whom I would like to see have a father around for many years to come.

Not to mention the medical expenses we incure everyday. Here are some figure for you, just to keep my husband alive last year we spent, $240 in medicine, $1,200 on medical supplies to run his insulin pump, and Lord have mercy I can only guess at our hospital bills for every reaction he had last year that required a trip to the hospital. I'm sure it was over $5000 or more. Now what could we do with and extra $10,000 a year?

    Hmmmm? Buy more weed

Anyway, I'm all for any research that involves stem cells and cloneing, b/c someday it just might save the life of someone I hold very close to my heart...... enough said.

Well, I didn't read your post, but I can imagine what it says, so let me just say this. My doctor happens to be a white male, but I would have no problem seeing a woman doctor, or a minority doctor for that matter. In fact, the medical community DOES need more women and especially more african-american women doctors. Science RULES!

just for my own sake I thought I would check out the story, and I didn't read it all, but I was right that it is about stem cell research, I figured as much, but then again, I have a lot at stake so I'm aware of the research. I kinda of gathered from others were posting that it has something to do with it.

LOL, no you were on target smokin'. I just love any form of the statement "I didn't read it, but here's my thoughts on it"- I want to start using it at work and school.

Stem cells are the real heroes.

well..nice to see so many people have opinions on this, and we have so many different opinions..it is awesome..

this isnt about stem cell research..i am all for it as i have limited time myelf and would like cures to be found..

this is about regulation and going too far..our society as a whole in this day and age is not ready for producing mass amounts of animals as a human organ farm..hopefully it never will..

my point, and only my opinion, is that regualtion is necessary..science is great and i am a healthcare professional..but science isnt God and there has to be something left for Him to do i guess..things have order, and purpose..

this goes beyond evolution in a huge way..to me that comment over there sticks in my mind cause if we mix a man and a monkey, how is that not going back instead of forward? to me this is hardly comparable, as this is self imposed evolution..scary stuff..

let's take all this money they are using for this ridiculous shit and take care of the hungry people and homeless people and abused people and crime stricken people and sick people who cant get health care and pay our teachers more so our kids get a better education and stop killin each other and better yet pay people in general more so they can be home with their kids and keep em outta the streets runnin as if they were grown..

again, just my opinion..if you dont agree i dont think you are wrong, we all have our own ideas..thanks for all the responses..this was my first thread i started and this has been nice guys..

    ickster..
