    Great Adjustable Light Hangers!

I would like to recommend a product that I am using.

It is called a Yo-Yo. Do a search on the web for adjustable light hanger and the word yo-yo and you will find them listed everwhere.

They are cheap... $15 for a set. A set of two will hold up my big sunblaze t5x8 array which weighs 23 lbs.

They stay put when you adjust them and without turning any knobs, adjusting any levers... just with a simple lifting up or pressing down of the light fixture, I can easily adjust the light up or down when I work on my SCRog screen. When finished I easily move the light to just the right height above my screen.

I highly recommend this product! Attached is a picture of them.

I am curious why? There is not much to them... what are they doing incorrectly? Did you hang them so that the yo-yo is at the light and the extendable cord hooks to the ceiling?

Just tossing out a word of caution to you.

Those puppies have been around for a good bit, and there are a few different flavors, some clearly superior.
If you are using these alone, without a safety, remain very aware of the amount of force required to adjust the light. If you start to feel any inconsistency in resistance, delegate it to another, less critical use.

When the friction material wears enough, gravity wins. I've seen some failures. <shudder> Not pretty.

I use them to support the heavier colas. They're handy little items for sure.

Personal preference for me is chain and carabiner. Crude,... but effective.

You know I still have these attached to my hanger triangle, they work good. I just didn't like the loosening/tightening aspect...they came w/ the used setup I purchased, but to be honest I prefer chains with a metal clip at the bottom,
    a link = a inch just about

Ya, nice Em, but I'm old school...That's too gimmicky, and $20??? I guess I'm tight too! LOL I do like the idea of holding up the heavy colas tho! Good idea, I just use a bamboo stake and a zip-tie...never thought of hanging them while they still alive! I use a hook in the ceiling, in a joist, a small swivel pulley attached, with a dock cleat (small) on the wall, in a stud, and some good stout 1/4" rope...infinitely adjustable, very strong...I'm 205 and can hang on it...totally secure, if you know how to use the cleat to tie off securely, that is...(there's an app for knots, tho... )

Since I'm always piddlin on boats too, I had all the stuff lying around collecting dust anyway, and I like overkill...if it will hold a boat in a hurricane, my light probably won't fall on my babies...and that's a good thing!

I just got the steel ones from HTG they were also $15.00 but IMHO are of a slightly better quality then the tie on YO-YO's. At least I feel safe about them not failing anytime soon. The only plastic on them is the eye opening at the end that hooks to the light.

Not to knock what you got there, I would have gotten that type had I ordered online but, I had to go and shop at HTG in person, I am a 'hands on' kinda guy when it comes to spending the hard earned.
