The fathers of our spoken language many, many centuries ago, who actually thought of themselves as civilized, the Aryans, no not the Nazi bastards, but the original group of people who started a lot of what happens to day in a broad and fine sense, partook of a drink or potion called soma.

The interesting thing about this potion is the fact that it was comprised of cannabis and ephedra, two of the main ingredients. Since one is a stimulant and cannabis can go either way, our ancestors were getting high on the same stuff as we do today. Maybe different methods, different scales, but we are really not far different from those early civilized peoples. :jointsmile:

I stumbled across this tidbit on Netflix with the History of India. I knew about the Aryans, and the Indo-European language families, but I guess because of the present times, this stood out to me.

So as we are being condemned for some of our activities, I tend to look at us in the true community as the civilized ones, and those that condemn us the uncivilized ones. It is they who cannot accept where they come from, and many social activities are traditional and go far far back into the past. Its time we got back on the human track and brought true civilization to the forefront once again. :twocents:
