The verdict is in! Was it a true Hermaphodite?
This is a follow up on the last question I asked the board regarding my oddest plant in this thread: True Hermi?
I have some exciting pictures for you my friends! The poll on that last thread closes tonight, and with remarkable timing just today I was able to see for sure where we stand on my #3 plant. It has been very very slow to show sex, and after seeing these pictures you will see why.
When I saw this today, I was convinced that there were male parts... I mean really... have you ever seen anything that looked more male than this?
But then the plot thickened. Look at this picture. That is definitely a pollen sack... but what the heck is that thing arching up there?
I loved this shot just for the drama. Note the tiny pollen sack that has fallen off the plant and it sitting on the desk in the foreground. Yet on the plant we see something that looks almost female. That pistil jutting off to the left doubled in size last night! I need one of those microscopes that can take pictures, but if you look at this pistil under magnification it definitely looks like it is made up of that fine wispy hair type growth that we see in female pistils... only its darker here.
And then, if you are not convinced yet... look at the very top growth. Right above my cut is a clear sex organ gone nuts. It is throwing off pistils right and left and also shows pollen sacks in the middle. From another angle you can see those center masses lifting up from the main stem on their own little stalks.
I have been convinced. This plant is dangerous and has been removed from the flowering room. I have gotten its passport and I am going to send it far far away.
Thank you for your help everyone. It has been fun learning about this plant together. It took 5 days of flowering to get to this point... up until now, although some of you recognized it as at least a male from earlier experiences, upon close examination it made one think it was still capable of going either way. Our local wonder, WashougalWonder was the only one to tag this plant correctly when several weeks ago he told me that it looked like this was a "true" hermaphodite. Now we have pictures published of exactly what that looks like and I have saved them in an album here:

The grow has been saved. My one female plant out of 5 is thriving and I will soon update my grow log so you can see what is going on. She is turning into a monster that already fills about 1/4 of the SCRog screen.
I will continue this saga on my grow log referenced in my signature. For now, I hope all of you had a very happy valentines day and that all of your grows are good grows.

So if a man says something and a woman is not there to hear it, is he still wrong? The answer is apparently....NO! At least sometimes... LOL! Good Job, WW!
Sorry to hear you're truly down to one there Em....have you taken any clones yet? Are you going to? NM....I'll ck the grow log!
I'm getting ready to flip my 6 maybe today....they went into 3 gal pots a few days ago and it didn't seem to phase them, so instead of waiting for them to recover (from what stress I don't know...the transplant had no ill effects I can tell, but I always fear a hermie) I'm gonna go ahead and flip em and start cloning again...I friggin hate transplanting...anybody know of an automatically enlarging pot with perfect soil I can use to avoid this? My hammies get so sore from all the bending over, I walk funny for days! I know... but I had to ask....SIGH! Maybe there's an app for that....?
