i started off with a aerogarden i found in a alley for my first grow as well. 13 days IS a little long for no cotyledons to have appeared. i only ran seeds of PH'd water, no nutes or any of those giant nute pills they come with. aerogarden is usually pretty fast at germinating;

u'll want to take the little dome off right before the sprout touches it.
