obtaining a license

I am from Oklahoma and considering moving this summer. I would like to know before i move if I would be able to obtain a license? I am 29 and a veteran. I have a degenerative disc in my lower back that causes muscle spasms. If that does not qualify me in washington I would be forced to move to New Mexico and get my license for my PTSD... Who wants to live in the desert??? I would like to know how this process works. It is kinda hard to sift through all of the websites. Thanks...

One of the main criteria in Washington's law is that you have to have tried other mainstream medications or methods on your problem and it hasn't worked. One of the easiest ways to get qualified is to have tried different opiates a couple times and have them make you throw up. Opiate intolerance is very common. We don't have a lot of doctors doing authorizations here in Washington but you shouldn't have any problem finding one to get you authorized.

I have had loratab, hydrocodine, and the oxy- one like it and they make me very itchy and feel dizzy. I prefer not to take any pain meds over taking the one's prescribed to me. Plus, when I take pain meds I am not able to function.

I was scared that nobody was going to respond to me because I am not registered yet. Here in Oklahoma the times are pretty slow, it will be twenty years before they consider alternative medicine. I think other states should follow suit with New Mexico and allow veterans with PTSD to have a license.

I am saving money right now for my move and should be ready by mid summer...
I will graduate with a mechanic degree and sell ONE of my mustangs for the trip.

Dustin, before you make the move, make sure you do your research about a job, place to stay, and the MMJ community. When I came, I had $10K and even with doing research, it didn't last long. I'm still here, but just barely sometimes, with help from my seen and unseen friends!!! If you need any help just ask. I would say King County/Greater Seattle is your best and safest bet, then go for university towns and places next. :thumbsup:

Thanks for the concern... I do get 70% service connected disability for my PTSD and it gets me about $1,230 every month and still should be able to work. Not quite the same as welfare but still not enough to live on.
My case worker told me to push for the whole 100% because my initial rating was so high at 70%. She said that they never give you the whole amount the first time... So I filed another claim about five months ago and I should get my rating with the next month. If I were to get 100% that would give me $2,600 a month but I would not be able to work...
