ok big questin for ya I got a new grow setup in m garage with 5 1000 watt metal haileds for 30 plants my question is why the hell does my face burn like hell when I'm around the lights?

You may be allergic to blue and white light? Not sure that it's not hot in there? Cause 5 1000's is alot of light as well as heat. Never heard of whats goin' on with you. Change the lamps to HPS and see if they burn you then.Worth a try,huh?

I think that much light was just a shock to my skin cause now it doesn't bug me but dam its flippen bright

Do not go to mercury vapor bulbs....LOL Oh my god I can't hardly type for laughing...MH (and it's Metal Halide!) is THE best for veggin....HPS (High Pressure Sodium)THE best for flowering...5,000 watts of light is an awful lot for 30 plants, so grow 50, or turn two off!

Yep, that's a lot of light...I bet it IS bright....you just have a tanning room/grow room combo garage, is all....I recommend at least a 30+ sunblock if you're going to be in there awhile....and shades....gotta wear shades maaaaan....go and get yourself some cheap sunglasses! (Credit ZZ Top!)

hahah ur an idiot... no need for 5000 watts in veg......hahahaha u must have a hugggge eletric bill if thats jus ur veg

i follow my limits 12 flower 12 veg...i used to have 1 1000w mh for my veg but what u get from that is rly tall plants, the light makes them shoot up. i stronly suggest switching to t5. i switched and got the 8 bulb double spectrum and my plants went from tall to fat bushes...along with pruning it right...if u got the dough grab a few of those 8 bulb t5s then use the 5000 watt for flower......ull have great results

Let me add this Tank.... Those HPS lamps will give you cataracts.. So... Be very sure you have a good pair of sunglasses!
