Three hundred million for businesses when the budget looks like death. I guess they expect the future cannabis sales taxes will fill the gap along with added gasoline, tobacco, soda, and ad nauseum taxes.

Its all for nothing. States, major cities and the feds are going to have to default if they ever want to get this under control.

As I ponder this, I believe the $300 million would be better used by creating jobs doing public works, cleaning up, etc. The $25.00 bump is bs and its a bad way of doing things. They waste more then they get real value from their give-a-ways to financial contributors in any shape or form!! :thumbsup:

There is lots of infrastructure that has been neglected for decades that would be a good use of the tax money. But part of the problem is that the tas money is getting sucked up by our overpaid welfare workers in all the state, county and city municipalities. The prevailing wage law neeeds to be addressed to get these fat salary, benefit and pension plans back in line with private industry. Its wrong for someone making $10 an hour to have to pay for a welfare worker doing the exact same job and making $30 an hour.

If it wasn't for cannabis, I'd easily find a job that paid my qualifications, and it still wouldn't come close to state workers pay in academia. And I know a Seattle City worker how said to the union, I'll willingly give up $10.00 an hour because he actually feels he's over paid.

I'm a retired truck driver as an example. I sub contracted with the USPS to deliver bulk mail to facilities throughout Wash and Oregon. I was paid $28 an hour. If I was driving for a private company in the Seattle area I would have been paid between $13 and $15 an hour. Had 2 union jobs, one paid $13 and the other only paid $10. If I worked for the STate driving a semi the prevailing wage was a little over $40 an hour. As you can see its just not fair to the working public to have to pay these welfare workers such exorbitant salary and benefit packages.

When I was an interior Electrician in the USAF I was paid about $700 a month. After I got out I worked a prevailing wage job at McChord and made $48 an hour...The military has done away with Civil Service so they can now pay Sub-Contractors BIG BUCKS...Air Police were WAY cheaper than the private guards that stand at the gate nowadays...

As a GS-3 in the early 90s for the Forest Circus doing equestrian archaeological surveys, I think I was making around $10.00 an hour. And on another government contract through a university I made $10.00 and hour + per diem of like $15-20 bucks. When I was on the really good foot doing carpentry sub-contracting in the late 70s and early 80s was when I made the most. Grossed $60K in six months in 80-81. Then the housing crunch. Government employees are the most over-paid and under-worked employees in the nation. Damn, why can't I have a ghost job like that!!!! Or even elected office @ $150-250K for doing nothing but spending and giving away other people's money!!! :lol5: Oh, yeah, I smoke the nasty weed!!! :rasta:

Ahhh, but if it were legal, they'd be stomping on your constitutional rights if they discriminated against you for that one fact when applying for such a position.

Truck driver prevailing wage is actually at $46.47 an hour which is really a ridiculous amount for a truck driver to get paid. Its not like you have to be a genius to drive trucks.lol
