    Problem with butter - Granulated??

Ok, so here is my method for butter:

    4lbs of butter
4 cups of finely ground product (whatever I have, ussually about 50/50 bud to shake by weight)
    Water to cover

Put it in a crockpot on low for several hours
Strain through a cheesecloth to get out largest particulates
Cool - I cool it in a large bowl.
Once it's cool and the butter is hard i remove it in two pieces from the bowl and rinse the underside with clean water to remove any clinging particulates.
I return the whole thing to the crockpot with more water and let sit for a couple more hours, stirring occasionally

I'm finding that my butter doesn't harden properly? it stays sort of mushy and granular. Still bakes up nice but I'd like to have a more solid product that I can harden into blocks and store easier.

THe very first batch of butter I did over a double boiler, THAT make nice solid butter.

Is it not getting hot enough to completely emulsify? should I up the temp on my crockpot?

ANyone have any idea why butter does that?

    Problem with butter - Granulated??

Not sure what caused the wierd results. I make butter on the stove in a regular metal pot. I just made an 8 lb batch. I used a little over a pound of quality trimmings that is aout 25% buds. I added a couple of quarters of Chem Dawg and other old buds I had laying around. After melting the butter and adding the weed I add enough water to fill the pot to near the top. I bring the mixture to a light boil then cover and reduce to simmer for 22 - 24 hours. Then cheescloth and potato ricer to get the butter out of the weed.

My products are at least 10 times stronger that what you can get at any dispensaries. I usually make cookies but also make lemon bars, mini pies and candy.
