It never occurred to me that you could do it that way... I have mine on the other side, pushing air through the filter and expelling clean air into my home.
And yes, a big filter with 16 lbs of charcoal in it is definitely well worth the small investment. It made all the difference in the world here.

Hey Emmie! Reverse your set-up and the filter will be more efficient. You need to have a 400 cfm fan to scrub the air and a 170 cfm to exhaust the air,and make the filter come in contact with more contaminated air. In the filters case.. Less cfm is more! Make sense? These type filters are made to work best on the draw and not push..Static pressure is not at it's peek on the push.If it were intended to be used that way.. The prefilter would be on the inside.
